45th PRINZ Awards - Now Open for Entry
11 February 2019 - Entries have now opened for the 2019 PRINZ Awards - the public relations and communication management industry's celebration of excellence in creativity and professionalism.
Entries are welcomed online until 5pm on Monday 11 March 2019, with late entries accepted until 5pm on Wednesday 13 March.
Now in their 45th consecutive year, the PRINZ Awards showcase the very best individuals, teams and campaigns in public relations and communications management across 13 award categories.
PRINZ President Felicity Price, FPRINZ says the PRINZ Awards recognise excellence in New Zealand's public relations and communications industry as well as encourage continuous improvement.
The PRINZ Awards are a celebration of the outstanding work we deliver for our organisations, clients, colleagues and the general public. Winning a PRINZ Award puts you amongst New Zealand's best practitioners and highlights your value to your employers, colleagues and clients, says Felicity.
In addition to the new PRINZ Awards branding, the 2019 Awards feature one new category for 'PR In-house Team of the Year' as well as a revamped 'Paul Dryden Tertiary Award' open to PRINZ student members.
Awards Chief Judge Kate Woodruffe, FPRINZ says she is excited about the refreshed awards.
Every year we review the categories to ensure that they remain relevant and this year we decided to add a new award category for 'PR In-house Team of the Year'. About 70% of PRINZ members work in-house, so we expect this will be a sought-after award.
We have also revamped the 'Paul Dryden Tertiary Award' to better reflect its purpose. Paul was the long-serving Chief Executive of PRINZ who passed away in 2011 and a strong champion of the relationship between tertiary institutions and PRINZ. He believed that providing young practitioners with a framework of knowledge through education, overlaid with their own contemporary understanding of communications practice, would ensure a relevant and refreshed profession. In keeping with this philosophy, this year entrants can submit a piece of work focussing on the future of public relations in any medium that best conveys their content. I'm looking forward to reviewing some creative and interesting entries, says Kate.
More than 30 PRINZ Fellows and experienced Members with the assistance of international colleagues participate in the rigorous judging process, which evaluates a wide range of entries from the consultancy, corporate, not-for-profit and government sectors.
The winner from each of the categories (excluding the Paul Dryden Tertiary Award, Sally Logan-Milne Young Practitioner of the Year, PR Consultancy of the Year, and PR In-house Team of the Year) is then judged for the esteemed Supreme Award by a specially-convened panel.
