Issues Management Overview
Issues management is the practice of preparing an organisation to manage any issues which may affect its reputation; and the art and science of dealing with such issues when they, inevitably, arise. In this programme, participants will learn how to identify potential risk issues and develop plans which help your organisation prepare for, avoid or mitigate and ultimately manage its response to critical issues. The content will include real-life examples as well as hypothetical scenarios to allow participants think through the steps required to consider the risks and plan for issues which could impact on your organisation.

Crisis Management Overview
This part of the day will consider the principles of good crisis management and best practice approaches in New Zealand and overseas. The module will consider what constitutes a crisis and how organisations can/should prepare for them. What is the role of the communications professional in a crisis situation and what processes, plans and procedures are required to help an organisation successfully navigate through a crisis? This programme is for any communicator who wants to understand crisis management and be able to assist their organisation to prepare for and respond to a crisis.
