Sarah Henry has had a love affair with the world of media for more than 20 years. She started her career as an unpaid intern and within six years was editing Woman’s Day, the country’s biggest-selling weekly magazine. After five-years wrangling Hollywood scandals, celebrity weddings and star births, Sarah took maternity leave and returned to the fold eight-months later as the editor of NEXT magazine – a role she held for five years. In 2017 she took on one of the Editorial Director roles at Bauer Media and today the 41-year-old is responsible for the 360-degree editorial and commercial success of the brands in the company’s Lifestyle, Health, Fashion, Food and Custom portfolio as well as various commercial publishing partnerships. She still loves a scandal!
Hayley Botes, Head of Media Collective, Bauer Media Group NZ
With a passion for content and communication, Hayley has spent her career at a diverse range of media and entertainment businesses across the globe. Hayley heads up the Media Collective at Bauer Media, a team focused on creating excitement around brands and content by delivering smart, engaging and effective campaigns backed solidly by insight and strategy.
After a brief stint of Channel Z promos (remember them?) and More FM brekkie radio producing in the early 00’s of Wellington Radio, Hayley’s career took an unexpected but awesome turn to the film industry. There she spent over 10 years working as a humble assistant turned Publicist for studios in London (Miramax, TWC) and then broadening into Senior Marketing roles for Roadshow Films in Auckland and Melbourne.
Now back in Auckland she gets her kicks working collaboratively with clients, partners and her brilliant team on all manner of brand and content campaigns. And when not flat out with work or home you can often just find Hayley head down, creating endless playlists on Spotify.
James Wotton, Event Specialist, Bauer Media Group NZ
James is an Event & Project Manager with 10 years’ experience. Starting out as an Event Coordinator whilst still at high school, it wasn’t long till James set his sights a little further afield. James moved to London for serval years working for Les Mills, producing events across Europe before he decided to settle back in New Zealand.
As Bauer’s resident Event Specialist, James enjoys working closely with clients and agencies to design, manage and deliver various events across our publications, always looking for innovative opportunities to connect brands with consumers.
