Sports vs Esports - Why the All Blacks, Warriors and Breakers are all playing videogames
What do all our major sporting franchises, from the All Blacks to the Breakers, have in common? Hint, it’s playing videogames on the internet while others watch. But the real question is ‘Why?’.
Chew on this. Over half of all Kiwis play video games, the average age is 35 and esports continues to see double digit audience growth year after year. Esports is the place to be if you want the 35-and-under influencing demographic to see and hear your messages. It’s a segment PR professionals can’t afford to ignore.
Come to PRINZ’s end of year event to hear from Duane Mutu, CEO of Let’s Play Live, and Matt Walsh, CEO of the NZ Breakers, about why they’re investing in esports and how brands are taking advantage of this powerful new space.
The Let’s Play Live team will also host guided tours of LPL’s studios inside the Sky Tower before we hit Andy’s Bar for our end of year drink - the first drink is on us.
Show we care...
In lieu of a charge to attend our end of year drink this year, we’re again asking you to bring a donation in the form of some canned or dried items for Auckland City Mission. We will collect your donations on the night and deliver them to the Mission.
If you need some inspiration here is a list of items which the Mission try to include in each food parcel - Baked Beans, Spaghetti, Canned Tomatoes, Canned Vegetables, Canned Soup, Canned Fruit, Canned Meat, Canned Fish, cream rice, Jam/Peanut Butter/Honey/Flour, Sugar, Teabags, Rice, Pasta, Cereal, Toilet Rolls, Soap and Shampoo.
