The Public Relations Institute of New Zealand (PRINZ) seeks a high-performing Chief Executive.

PRINZ is the member organisation for public relations and communication management professionals, representing 1300+ members from a variety of sectors. It seeks to appoint a new Chief Executive to lead the Institute.

You may come from the public relations and communication sector and be seeking a leadership role, or you may be an association professional seeking entry into a vibrant and dynamic sector. You'll be comfortable speaking to large and small groups and will be keen to demonstrate the industry’s professionalism and seek ways to do that every day.

The Chief Executive manages a team of three from the organisation's Parnell base. As well as planning strategy, you’ll be hands-on in the doing and coaching and guiding a young team. Governance and financial management are important to the role and you are well-supported by an elected Council.

Knowledge and experience

· Demonstrated understanding of, and preferably experience of, working in public relations and communications management

· Contacts and established networks within the PR and communications management sector, and wider - HR, Management and others

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience of financial processes, eg: Budgeting, audit and annual reporting cycles

· Experienced with MS Office suite and social media platforms

· Experienced with office management

· Project and event management experience

· Demonstrated experience in sponsorship; fundraising and marketing

· Experience and/or demonstrated understanding of membership based organisational management (CRM) and governance

Mandatories:

· The successful applicant will need to comply with all constitutional and governance requirements of PRINZ and any necessary legal and statutory obligations of an incorporated society.

· The successful applicant must have a legal right to work in New Zealand at the time of applying.

· Two professional and two personal referees will need to be provided by shortlisted candidates.

· The role is Auckland based for 27 hours per week, regular national and possibly occasional international travel is required.

Interviews will take place in Auckland.
