Description of Position
Are you looking for a communications role that will motivate and inspire people?
We are seeking a strategic internal communications practitioner who understands engagement, communications, change and HR. Our work champions a high performance culture through employee experiences. This is a great opportunity for an experienced and creative Senior Internal Communications specialist to join a fun and dynamic team that live and breathe Auckland's vision of becoming the world's most liveable city. The Internal Communications team are a responsible for keeping the 6000 plus employees of Auckland Council informed and engaged.
The team are integral to building a sense of common purpose, encouraging strong two-way communication within the organisation, leading to a high performance culture and positive employee engagement. As a senior member of the internal communications team, you will contribute to improving the brand and reputation of the organisation from the inside out whilst maintaining and protecting the profile of senior leaders including the Chief Executive.
The successful candidate will be a talented writer and a skilled communicator who has the ability to build credibility and trust with key internal stakeholders. We expect you will have a strong background in communications, journalism or PR and have proven application of your writing and campaign skills from at least five years running end-to-end internal communication campaigns.
This exciting role requires tenacity and enthusiasm to succeed. We need creative and innovative solutions, someone who copes well under pressure and enjoys managing multiple projects at any given time. You will have proven initiative, drive and resilience, be able to work to tight deadlines, and balance competing priorities. Experience working in a similar role in a large complex organisation coupled with tertiary qualifications will put you ahead of the rest.
