Description of Position
This Senior Integrated Communications Advisor role is responsible for developing and leading a diverse range of communications and marketing strategies, project plans and collateral to support Auckland Council's operations department in the licensing and compliance department, the business to consumer (B2C) area of Council.
The successful applicant will take the lead on a range of high-profile projects developing creative and innovative multi-media communications and marketing campaign strategies (in scale and to budget) ranging from licensing and compliance, health licensing, animal management, bylaw changes and legislative change implementation. You will develop effective plans, combining marketing, media relations and communications, which Auckland's diverse communities will notice and understand. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a wealth of experience in PR, marketing and internal communications coupled with the proven ability to project manage a portfolio of projects. For the right candidate, this role provides the opportunity for a motivated, ambitious and talented communications practitioner to profile themselves in the organisation by directly engaging with a range of key stakeholders to drive forward these key projects. This is where strong advocacy, networking and business partnering skills are essential to enable the successful applicant to take the communication lead on multiparty / project teams to advance projects that will directly impact Auckland.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification, possess seven plus years’ experience in communications, marketing, journalism (or related discipline) with significant experience in delivering integrated communication strategies and plans. Experience leading and delivering successful end-to-end communications and marketing campaigns is a must to being successful in this role.
